STS-6A

In the 1980s, three scientists Streckeisen, Steim, and Wielandt jointly established the standard for digital broadband seismic records, and Streckeisen's STS-1 series products began to be widely used in global earthquake research. The STS series products have been the world standard for wideband seismometers over the past 40 years. After the legendary products STS-1 and STS-2, Streckeisen launched the new generation broadband seismometer STS-2.5 in 2010, as well as the downhole version STS-5A of STS-2.5 launched in 2014.
The STS-6A downhole seismometer developed based on STS-5A has lower noise, wider frequency band, and magnetic shielding characteristics that are suitable for normal operation in high latitude areas. With a frequency bandwidth of 360S to 50Hz and a quiet observation environment in deep wells, STS-6A provides an opportunity to explore unknown areas. STS-6A is the preferred product of the Global Seismic Network (GSN).
